Another Michelin CC2 review. This time in snow and ice after 60,000KM
Do the Cross Climate 2s still do the job after 60,000KM in snow and ice?
I went to Galatista in Northern Greece to find out.
Part 1 – Abandoned Road
Part one of the review was on the abandoned road between Agios Prodromos (is the souvlaki really that good? 🙂 and Galatista.
Honestly, conditions were not too bad here. Tyres had zero problem in the light snow.
Part 2 – Mountain Pass
The mountain pass was much more challenging. The road was much stepper and it was a lot icier. Long story short, I couldn’t get to the top of the pass. (I could have if I put chains on the car but that would defeat the point of the video)
Conclusion – CC2 Review
After 60,000KM the Cross Climate 2 tyres are still allowing the car to drive into conditions I would not even consider with the Pilot Sport 5. It’s like they give the car a super power.
Don’t get me wrong, they are not a snow tyre but the winter performance, in my opinion, is a big step up from normal tyres. If you want the piece of mind that your tyres will be able to deal with an occasional bit of snow and ice and not leave you stranded like everyone else, in my experience, the Cross Climate 2s do a great job.
Sure they are not the best summer tyre and they are not the best rain tyre but they are “good” everywhere and the snow performance is great for non-dedicated snow tyre. DriveTune Recommended.
