The Octavia VRS project was fitted with Laser Platinum spark plugs at it’s last service at TurboSpeed. After the change the engine seemed a bit lumpier from cold. So I have just swapped the NGKs out for Denso Iridium TT Spark plugs with the hope of getting a smoother cold idle. Did it work?
In a word “better”. Not exactly as I remember before the service but slightly better. The idle takes less time to even out after a cold start. There was a very slight and occasional miss with the NGK Laser Platinum after the cold start. This seems to be slightly better with the Denso Iridium TT.
